Bobbie Drew, now in her third term on Regional Council, two as Regional Councillor for the Township of Scugog and the third as Mayor for the Township of Scugog, has been in the political arena since 1988.
Serving as the Scugog Trustee on the Durham District School Board for 12 years, this mother of three and grandmother of seven has lived most of her life in Scugog Township. She retired from the School Board as Vice-Chair and launched her municipal political career in 2003 as a Ward Councillor.
As Durham Regions Board appointee, Bobbie has served on the Lake Simcoe Conservation Authority for 17 years, and their Foundation for eight. She currently serves Durham Region on the Finance Committee.
Bobbies personal interests centre around her family, friends, music, community involvement and musical theatre and she has written columns for local newspapers.
Bobbie is delighted to serve on the Police Services Board as a representative of Durham Regional Council for the 2018 to 2022 term. In fact, her quotation in a recent Durham Regional Police Services Board publication sums up her genuine enthusiasm for the role: I know how deeply our citizens value the safety of our community, and how much they appreciate the positive impact that members of the Durham Regional Police have on their lives every day.
